As a scientist, I am an expert in the fields of immunology and virology, and I have been inspired in my work by Dr. Hanan Polansky's discovery of the link between chronic viruses and chronic diseases, including cancer. In his book, Dr. Polansky explains, in a very clear way, how some viruses hijack our biological mechanism of gene transcription, and how this exploitation eventually leads to defective cellular functions, and chronic disease.
To protect us from these viruses, and other types of invaders, we have our immune system. This system includes different types of cells, which are circulating in our blood stream searching for the bad guys (bacteria, viruses, and even cancer cells). Many stress conditions, or even some drugs, can hurt our immune system, and cause a decrease in the number of those cells. A sharp decrease in our immune cells could expose us to infections, and also... as we learned from Dr. Polansky, to some dreadful diseases, such as arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.
Lately I started taking a diuretic drug to control my high blood pressure. One of its known side effects is a decrease in the white blood cell count. As my doctor warned me, after taking the medication, a blood test showed that my blood leukocytes counts decreased to levels close to the lower end values. This decrease stressed me out, given my knowledge as an immunologist of the risks associated with such low counts. I started searching the literature for a solution, and I came across an article about Gene-Eden. To my surprise, and delight, I realized that the development of this natural antiviral supplement was inspired by Dr. Hanan Polansky's discovery. I bought four bottles, and started taking one capsule in the morning and one in the afternoon. After two months, I took a blood test. The results were great. My white blood cell counts increased back to almost normal levels. In addition, and as a bonus, I feel more energetic and even sleep better at night.

Upon reading the ingredients, I was very pleased with what I found. It contained tea tree oil, (but doesn't taste like it)and Xylitol (which helps reduce plaque) and didn't contain any bad ingredients, including palm oil or sulfates. I had been a Toms toothpaste customer, but the price is getting higher every time I buy it, and it did contain sulfates, and was becoming more difficult to find without fluoride. If you read the ingredients list you will find it contains many good things, and I have also noticed a big difference in the whiteness of my teeth.

I'm a returning Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, and my health had started to fade due to heavy metal and chemical toxicity (mercury, vaccine compounds, etc). I was getting sick all the time due to my immune system being out of whack. I started taking this stuff on a regular basis, and I'm coming up on a month using it now, and what a difference it's made! I haven't been sick after about the 2nd week of using it, and any sickness symptoms that I had just went away. Then I noticed that my body was trying to "detox" itself, which is a very scary process if you've never gone through with that.
I'm recommending that anyone with health concerns just try it like I did. I was needing another bottle of this stuff, so I was surprised to find it on here. It looks like a new product for Amazon, so now I have an easier way to order it.

Once I started administering the "iFlora Probiotics For Kids Powder" as per the instructons on the bottle, my kids illnesses dropped to just some simple coughs and sniffles. I also noticed that my kids recovered faster. Someone who works in the healthcare field, suggested that I add the Colostrum formula "Transfer Factor Classic" (one capsule a day per child) to the "iFlora Probiotics For Kids Powder". She told me that the combination has kept the kids in her family healthy. I started my kids on the combination, as per her suggestion, and the results have been even better. By this time, last year, my kids had been out of school about three times (a total of about 7 days each). This year, thus far, they have not been out of school. Also, for some reason, their attention span has improved since I added the Colostrum formula "Transfer Factor Classic". I've also thrown in a good children's multi-vitamin (B.J's Children's Multivitamin) to their diet for good measure.
UPDATE on October 15, 2009: If you can't afford either type of supplements for your kids, you may want to consider the cheaper alternatives for kids. They are out there, and probably just as good. I've switched to cheaper children's brands of the probiotic/acidophilus and colostrum. They work well, and my children continue to do well health-wise. Which one's did I switch to? Nature's Way Primadophilus for Kids (cherry flavor), and KAL Dinosaur Colossal Colostrum (chocolate).

the natural path brand is about the same price as many 10ppm bottles, but 50 times stronger!
i first purchased colloidal silver many years ago as an anti-bacterial remedy for my aquarium. i had heard about the success of colloidal silver from a friend but was upset when my fish died even after using the remedy. then i did a little research and found that i was using was worthless 10ppm silver.
a few years later my rabbit had an ear infection and i read on the internet that colloidal silver might cure it. i went looking for colloidal silver at GNC but they only had 10ppm (the same bottle i had bought years before.) so i headed on down to the local health food store and luckily i found 500ppm silver. i bought a 2 ounce bottle of natural path that cured my rabbit's ear infection and lasted a long time for many other purposes.
my 2 ounce bottle from the health food store was $18 and this 4 ounce bottle on amazon is $21-what a great deal!this bottle has a conveient glass dropper attached to the top (so you use less than the pour bottle kinds.) the liquid is a dark brown with a distinct silver taste.i believe the serving size for daily intake is 1/4 teaspoon-which means this bottle was last a long time. i do not take this product daily but i find that it helps with the occasional bout of bad breath. i also put it on cuts or anywhere that needs anti-bacterial protection. it is also helpful if applied topically for urinary and vaginal yeast infections (sorry-that may be too much info but i think other women will understand-it's far better than messy smelly creams.)
this stuff is also great for use on pets. it's safe, as i've never heard any evidence to the contrary. as i stated earlier, it is a great anti-bacterial medicine for fish tanks. (chemical 'medicines' really just poison your fish.) it can even be used constantly in small amounts with every water change for preventitive treatment.
i have several pet birds that like to pollute their drinking water with feces and food. a drop of silver quells any fear i might have that they will get an infection before i change the water again.
i also put a small amount in my dog's drinking water every now and then for his doggie breath.
bottom line-you will not find a better buy on quality 500ppm colloidal silver or even a product that has so many uses.

This past week we all got really sick and had a horrible cold with the worst dry-painful cough we had ever experienced. My husband was given a prescription Robitussin for the cough. Me and the kids were trying all kinds of home remedies for the cough like teas, raw honey, rubs of peppermint and eucalyptus oil, etc. We were also recommended another homeopatic syrup, which is also supposed to be very safe (Chestal Honey). None of the home remedies provided a real relief. Then my husband brought home "Umcka ColdCare". He started taking it and tossed away the Robitussin, this was much better. Then I tried it, and I felt immediate relief. I was hesitant to give it to my 4 year old, because the bottle states is for kids 6 years and older (The formula I got does contain alcohol). Then I found out they also carry an alcohol-free version and a Children's formula for kids 2 and older. This has been a miracle to us! Nothing else seemed to get rid of our cough and this worked immediately for all of us.

Vitamin D3-50 By Biotech Pharmacal - 100 Capsules Review

This high-dose Vitamin D3 pill is a specialized product used to quickly raise the blood levels of Vitamin D3 in an individual who is severely Vitamin D3 deficient. This dosage of Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is used primarily for Stoss Therapy. The usual dose is one 50,000 iu pill once a week for six to eight weeks. This dosage should normally be used in conjunction with a blood test to establish serum levels of 15 hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) before and after administration of six to eight weeks of once-weekly doses.
Although warnings about the toxic effects of Vitamin D3 have been exaggerated, a daily dose of 50,000 iu Vitamin D3 taken long-term has been shown to frequently induce spillage of calcium into the urine, and, in some individuals, kidney stones. The FDA says the high safe dose of Vitamin D3 is 2000 iu, which is very conservative. Based on recent research, several journal articles argue for daily doses ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 iu daily. None recommend 50,000 iu daily.
Supplementation is very appropriate if you are dark-skinned, older, do not expose skin to midday sun, or, if you regularly wear sunblock products. Vitamin D3 has been shown to reduce the incidence of cancer, many auto-immune diseases, and, inflammatory and infectious processes. Vitamin D3 is also protective of bone and muscle.
Again, the 50,000 iu dose is used in Stoss therapy. Don't use this product on a daily basis.
The optimal daily dose ranges from 2,000 to 5,000 iu of Vitamin D3. 2,000 iu is most appropriate for young and middle-age adults who are light-skinned and receive some Vitamin D3 from sun. 5,000 iu is most appropriate for older adults who absorb less Vitamin D3 from the gut and dark-skinned adults who do not create as much Vitamin D3 when they are exposed to sunlight. Biotech Labs also markets a 5,000 iu pill. Again, the FDA says 2,000 iu is the high safe dose for Vitamin D3.
You can also request a routine 25 hydroxyvitamin D test from your physician to establish your own Vitamin D3 blood level. 50 nanomoles/microliter are thought by current researchers to be adequate; 80 nanomoles/microliter are thought to be optimal. The majority of Americans are Vitamin D3 deficient.
The Vitamin D Council (vitamindcouncil.com)written primarily by Dr. John Cannell, MD is a good place to start your research.
Technical:
Several Vitamin D3 researchers are currently arguing for a daily dose of 2,000 to 5,000 iu to achieve an optimal Vitamin D3 serum (blood) level of 70 to 80 nanomoles per liter.
Here's a representative quote from one researcher:
"Generally, blood levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D), the non-active 'storage' form, of 50 nanomoles per litre (nmol/L) are suggested as the lower limit of the normal range. Studies have reported however that levels of parathyroid hormone (PTH), a hormone that regulates calcium balance, and calcium absorption are not optimised below serum 25(OH)D levels of 80 nanomoles per litre."
The researcher, Sonia Talwar, reported that the a dose of 800 iu raised 25(OH)D levels from a baseline average of 47 nmol/L to 71.4 nmol/L after three months. After additional three months at a higher dose (2,000 IU), the average serum concentration of 25(OH)D was 87 nmol/L."

(More customer reviews)This syrup should really be labeled "liquid tincture" because it really basically is just that. I don't know how anyone can take this straight up- I have to dilute it in hot water to help evaporate the alcohol and add an equal portion of honey to get it down without choking. (I still have to hold my nose!) Despite the fact that it is God awful tasting- it has helped me with a pretty bad case of bronchitis. Also, I have only been able to take this after meals- as it is so strong it upsets my stomach otherwise. They really should make this formula in a pill form instead!

I don't know why the FDA doesn't require all these products to provide the latin name of the plant on the label and in the advertising, but they don't. Fortunately, the Nature's Way brand tells you it's from origanum vulgare hirtum, which is the good stuff. They also contain soy lecithin, which is from non-GMO soy.

The packaging says to take Umcka when the first symptoms appear, and I took my first dose about 30 minutes after my throat really started to hurt. My sore throat pain went away several minutes after the first dose and then returned a few hours later. So, I took another teaspoon of Umcka, and my throat felt fine again. Those early symptoms (sore throat and the beginnings of a stuffy nose) continued on for a few days. I kept with the 4-5 doses a day (as instructed), though, and the cold never fully developed. So not only did Umcka stop my cold, but it also tasted A LOT better than any medicine I had ever taken in the past for a cold.
