GNC Niacin 500 240 Tablets Review

GNC Niacin 500 240 Tablets

I recently found out that using the Flush-Free version of Niacin does not have any cholesterol-reducing properties. I have corresponded with some of my online friends; and they have confirmed that the "non Flush-Free" Niacin helped them reduce their cholesterol. The "non Flush-free" produces a heat rush and intense itching for most people. I have found that it doesn't last more than an hour and the incidence lessens the more your body gets used to it. I make no medical claims for this product; and you should always check with your doctor before using any supplements to make sure that they don't interact with any other prescription and non-prescription drugs/supplements that you may be taking.
I found that the GNC brand was cheaper than the brand name of Niacin that was carried at my local Walmart. All the other Niacin that they carried was Flush-free.

I have been using this product for years and it works. It is discouraging how much the shipping has gone up. I can't find it in any stores locally.

Nature's Bounty Time Released Niacin 250 Mg., 90 Caspules Review

Nature's Bounty Time Released Niacin 250 Mg., 90 Caspules

I did a bit of reading (links and experts below) on Niacin for increasing HDL. The "non-flush" Niacin has very little affect on HDL, and it is my impression only "flush" Niacin has medical value. I am also under the impression one needs 500 mg a day for improvement. These are flush Niacin capsules of 250 mg each, and I take one in the morning, another at night, and I do not have any skin flushing or uncomfortable side affects at all. I highly recommend this product.
[...]
"Niacin has been used since the 1950s to improve cholesterol profile. Several well-designed double-blind, placebo-controlled studies have found that niacin can reduce LDL ("bad") cholesterol by approximately 10% and triglycerides by 25% while raising HDL ("good") cholesterol by 20% to 30%. 24-29 Niacin also lowers levels of lipoprotein(a)--another risk factor for atherosclerosis--by about 35%. Long-term studies have shown that use of niacin can significantly reduce death rates from cardiovascular disease."
[...]
"So, with very little nicotinic acid in the blood seen in this study, as well as the lack of evidence seen in other studies, it is doubtful that flush-free niacin is effective in lowering cholesterol."

I was recommened about this medicine from Humancure.com to promote thickening hair. So far, I think it does what it claims. I can feel blood circulating throughout my body. The only additional suggestion is this medicine should be taken in the morning. It would feel uncomfortable at night if you take before bed time.

Jarrow Formulas B-Right Complex, 100 Capsules (Pack of 2) Review

I am not much of an expert. I was taking B6 alone for nerve health (pain, numbness and tingling) and it was helping noticeably. A friend suggested B-right could possibly do more than just taking B6, and he was right since it is even more effective at helping my nerves. Although there is still something wrong with me, and I haven't found the right doctor to give me good advice, this vitamin makes me feel almost better.

Now Foods Niacin, 100 tablets / 500 mg ( Multi-Pack) Review

My doctor is very happy with the results I've been getting, and for the most part I do not experience flushing with this formulation (now that I'm used to it).
I did experience flushing on occasion for the first few weeks taking it, and even now I will rarely experience just a little of it (itching ears, etc).
Note that you should not take high doses of niacin without talking to your doctor - he will want to monitor some things like your liver function.

My wife has had great results with this product. While she was never overweight, she had been putting on weight recently. Recently, she has lost quite a bit and is back to her normal weight and she attributes it to using this product regularly.

Twinlab Niacin (B-3) Review

Twinlab Niacin (B-3)
Average Reviews:

I've been taking niacin for six years for my cholesterol. I've tried several different brands, but when I switched to three times a day dosing, I finally switched to the Twinlab product. Taking niacin (immediate-release) tablets three times a day caused elevations in my liver enzymes. Going to the Twinlab brand brought them back down.
I also agree with other reviewers who caution against starting with a high dose. Taking 500mg of niacin will provide an experience you will never forget.
