(More customer reviews)Why is it great! If I wake up in the middle of the night and drink some of this, mixed in water, I go back to sleep easier and sleep deeper...and when I wake up I feel better. I notice a definite difference taking this, than when I don't (Warning: This is only for LOW blood sugar, if you have HIGH blood sugar they have a different product). But it works, of course if you mix it with Sprite it won't work quite as well, it's not magic juice, it's just sensible nutrition. The other product I rave about (hey, maybe I'll write a review!) is Joint Vibrance by the same company, it's their version of Glucosamine, Condroitin, MSM and it works just as well, for me at least. It's expensive, but not as expensive as one visit to the doctor.

New Chapter Cinnamonforce Review

(More customer reviews)Like so many natural substances, cinnamon is the subject of dozens of health claims. It's touted as the answer to everything from weight loss and improving memory to alleviating arthritis pain. Does it work? Beats me. Since I like cinnamon and don't get a sufficient amount in the foods I eat regularly, I've been taking cinnamon capsules for a few months in the hope that it might work to regulate my blood sugar and lower my LDL levels. My results have been good but truthfully, I have no idea whether it's thanks to the cinnamon, the other changes in diet I've put into effect or a combination of the two. Since I don't seem to be suffering any ill effects from the cinnamon capsules and may actually be reaping a benefit, I plan to continue them.
The capsules that I had been taking are much more potent than the New Chapter Cinnamonforce capsules. I had been ingesting 2 to 3 grams a day as opposed to the 140 mg recommended by New Chapter. True, my old capsules are Cinnamomum Cassia and not the combination of Cinnamomum Aromaticum (cassia) and Cinnamomum Verum that's contained in the Cinnamonforce, but as I read that several studies were conducted using only the cassia (which is cheaper and more commonly available), I'm not sure how noteworthy that is.
In short, the Cinnamonforce capsules are small, very pleasant tasting and easy to take but are significantly less potent and more expensive than many other available brands of cinnamon capsules on the market.

(More customer reviews)A few years ago (2004) my sugar started to go up into the bad zone (ie, I had been prediabetic for a while with Metabolic Syndrome, but the sugar was now out of the normal zone and heading into diabetic.) Well, I did a couple things. I stopped eating carbs alone (began a habit of eating fruits and starches only with some fat and protein) and I started taking cinnamon supplementation (real in food, capsules, then I tried this, Cinnergen).
My sugar got down to normal without losing weight (which is the best way to do it, but hey, tough, right?). Right down to the nineties, then eighties. No need for medication. yay.
I slacked off in the last year, since I started eating organic and more produce, but I do see that my sugar has come to the nineties. Before it goes back to 121 (the number that scared me into using cinnamon and food pairing to start), I ordered this again.
I love the flavor and it's so easy to take the dosage as directed. Nicer experience than just downing capsules.
If you don't use real cinnamon liberally and want to keep your sugar in a nicer zone, give this a shot. Worked for me.

(More customer reviews)After reading some of Dr. Perricone's books I decided to add alpha lipoic acid to my daily routine. He recommended taking between 50-100Mg per day, so I chose these 100mg capsules. As far as pills go, they are reasonably sized and have a smooth coating so they wash down pretty easy (which is something I always take into account).
They are supposed to help your body metabolize sugar and be an antioxidant that is both fat and water soluable to give your body more benefit than E or C can provide alone. They are also supposed to promote the repair damaged collegen to lessen scars and prevent any further scarring.
I am by no means a nutrition expert and I started taking these about the same time I overhauled my entire diet to go on Dr. Perricone's plan so I can't say for sure that the changes I have noticed in my appearance and energy levels are because of these pills specifically, but something is sure working!
I any case, I see no problems with these pills and due to the improvements in the way I feel as a whole I will continue to use alpha lipoic acid. I don't know if the brand really matters, I chose this one because it was on sale and therefore the cheapest. Overall this seems to be a good product, but as with anything it is up to the individual to decide what is best for their lifestyle.

The combination seems useful, but remember that "hardcore" scientific evidence is lacking. This product itself seems to be of reasonable quality at a reasonable cost. Generally I feel that any substantial harms/risk is low if used in modest daily quantities.

So I'm giving this product 5 stars based on the fact that it doesn't have any crap ingredients (like titanium dioxide that is in other ALA supplements on Amazon) its made in the good ol' USA, the capsules are small and easy to swallow, and it has specific instructions on how to use it for increasing the absorption of creatine, which is what I use it for. I was able to wean off medication eventually, but the issue returned after an injury, asthma treatments, and weight gain. The doctor prescribed Lisinopril, and it made me cough constantly. I was then put on Losartan. I did not have any side effects; however, it did not lower my blood pressure enough. It still ran 159/109. He then added amlodipine, which made me tired all the time. When I read the reviews for Michael's Blood Pressure Factors, I decided to give them a try.Since my blood pressure was so high, I took them with the Losartan, and I noticed that I had no dizziness or fatigue. When I arrived for my appointment two weeks later, they took my blood pressure three times. They even had more than one person take it, and guess what? IT WAS NORMAL!! My doctor encouraged me to continue and we came up with a three month plan, which we will evaluate at my next visit. I strongly recommend this product!
