Natures Answer Chaste Berry/Vitex Alcohol Free Extract Review

(More customer reviews)Upon the suggestion of an herbalist I trust, I ordered this product for my wife. We had to play with the dosage a little, but we eventually got it right for her needs. It doesn't get rid of the 'problem' completely, but it definitely helps a lot, particularly with the pain. The bottle is tinted to preserve the herbs inside, and the lid has a built-in dropper with measuring lines for easy dosing. We've gone through around a dozen bottles by this point, so I can tell you we're definitely happy with the product.
Be aware that the herb's density in the mix may vary slightly from bottle to bottle. I mix this herb into water, and can usually tell how strong the herbs are by how dark the liquid gets. This herb has a rather unpleasant taste, so you may want to mix in some sweetener as well. My wife adds a couple drops of stevia to the mix before she drinks it.

(More customer reviews)Yes, I have to agree with everyone else here, these pills smell absolutely horrid, but I tried them last night, and I did get a noticably better sleep, I just felt more refreshed.
Update: I've been taking two a night, as the bottle suggests, and I am getting a more rested sleep. It's been a week now, and I don't really notice the smell of the pills now either. Good stuff. Celestial Seasons also makes a tea with Valerian, so if you don't like pills, perhaps try that.

Spring Valley Olive Leaf Review

(More customer reviews)First of all let me start by saying that I've had chronic sinus issues for over 6 years to the point were I developed nasal polyps and had total loss of smell. After 2 years of suffering I had surgery to remove the polyps, but found that over the course of the next year my sinus issues came back. I have neti pots and nasal irrigators galore and have poured or sprayed all kinds of things up my nose with the hope that I'd get my smell back (saline/peroxide mixtures, xylitol sprays, colloidal silver, umf honey rinses, tea tree oil rinses). Even steroid nasal sprays failed to work consistently (about three times a year I'd get random and surprising bouts of smell for a day or two where I'd run around like a fiend smelling everything I could get my hands on until my smell went away again). I thought I would have to either live with having a constantly blocked nose and no smell or continue having surgeries as my doctor warned me that polyps tend to be reoccurring.
About two weeks ago while googling for information about products that might help with sinusitis I came upon some info about Olive Leaf extract and all of its apparent antibacterial/antiviral/anti-fungal/anti-inflammatory properties and thought "what the hell, it can't hurt". I went and picked up some of this Spring Valley Olive leaf from my local discount chain for about 6 bucks and took two before bed (twice the recommended dose), and then woke up and took too more. Several hours later I got this oddly familiar sensation in my nose and realized that that sensation was the return of my smell! I couldn't believe it but continued to take 2 a day just in case it was the Olive Leaf and not some random miracle. After taking the extract daily and still being able to smell I decided to skip a day or two and see what happened, and slowly felt my nose close up and my smell go away. I started taking it again after two days and my smell came right back. I still can't really believe it, but I'm soooooo glad I tried it.

Riboflavin and inderol have been added to my kit since I started feverfew, but feverfew was the first prophylactic I started taking and it made the most dramatic difference. Your mileage may vary of course, and talk to your doctor.

To further the Valerian's effects, I like to take a hot shower before bedtime. No funky (or absent)dreams, I just sleep a nice, peaceful night. N.American Herb Spice - Oreganol (Oil Of Oregano) Review

(More customer reviews)I had a persistent cold and ear ache for some time, and when it got to the point that I could barely hear, I went to the Whole Body department of Whole Foods and asked them to help me. They told me to buy this Oreganol, but the .45 oz bottle cost $25, and I told them no way. Well, they gave me a free sample (always a good sign), and this stuff drained my ears and sinuses about five minutes after dosage (I did buy the product). It works fantastically. It tastes like, well, a super-concentrated dose of oregano, which is not very delicious at all.
It does burn for a minute or so after dosage, and may cause heartburn. If you frequently get heart burn, this is not the product for you.
I bought the tiny .45 oz bottle, which they told me would last about six months with daily dosing of 1-2 drops to prevent illness. Mind you, the 1-2 drops can be easily diluted in water, removing the awful burning sensation and terrible taste. For colds, you will need a higher dosage applied directly under the tongue and then swallowed.
Well, I ranted about how great this product was to my friends during the cold season. For many of them it worked very well, for others it only added to their misery. Yes, this product will not work for everyone. One of my friends, who is into herbal medicines, tried this product and it made her throw up. This was followed by hours of heartburn and no relief from her sinus pressure.
What I would recommend is that before you buy this product, see if you can get a sample from a friend or from your local health food store (in my case, Whole Foods).
When it does work, it works great, and when it doesn't, it's an awful experience.

This gets me relaxed, to sleep, I stay asleep and I wake up refreshed--not zombified.
I've tried other combo supplements that have Valerian, plus GABA or plus Melatonin, Tryptophan, etc, etc. The plain Valerian works best for me.
