(I live on a vegetarian diet.)

Ok, let me preface this with saying I am one of the biggest skeptics you'll ever meet. I don't easily fall for new fads, miracle cures, or anything that seems to be too good to be true. This being said, I am completely in love with this product and feel it has helped boost my immune system 100%.
Unfortunately, I am not as health-conscious as I should be. I am overweight, have a bit of an addiction to McDonald's cheeseburgers, and maybe exercise once or twice a week. It all seemed to catch up with me last Thanksgiving when I got hit with a cold. No big deal, I get them a couple of times a year. Then, right before Christmas, I got another cold. I was very put-out, but just figured it was my bad luck.
February rolls around and brings with it Cold #3. I had missed quite a bit of work and was getting very concerned that something else might be wrong. I developed a slight fever, but it all went away in one week. I hoped that it was all over and I had just had an unfortunate cold season.
When I got back to work, I spoke with one of my co-workers, "Emily," who is a self-proclaimed health-nut. She would always brag that she "never got colds." I would cringe and tell her to a) not tempt fate and b) stop rubbing it in. She swore by this "green food" powder she drank every day in her lemonade. It looked like finely cut grass, and I assumed that's what it was. I told her she was nuts, she hadn't gotten a cold because she was lucky, she ate really well, and ran every morning. I let her fix me some of the powder and tried to mix it up with my tea. It was horribly, it felt like I was drinking, well, finely cut grass. It didn't have a bad taste, but the texture was grotesque. I told her I'd take my chances.
Well, Here comes March and, with it, a new cold. By this time I was desperate. Emily told me to go to the health store and look for some of the green foods in capsule form. I did so, and although I couldn't find the brand she was taking in capsule form (Green Vibrance), I did find the Greens Plus. It seemed to have a lot of similar ingredients, so I went ahead and bought it ($40!). Whatever, I figured this was my last-ditch effort before hauling myself down to the doctor.
I took 4 of the pills that night, and, I swear, woke up the next morning feeling ok. It was like I had knocked my cold out before it really got started. I was elated, but still not convinced. I was sure it could have been coincidental, but after four months and four colds, I really didn't care. I took 3 of these pills every morning (you can take up to 12), and the colds didn't come back. Twice since then, I've felt that "scratchy throat" feeling you get when a cold's coming on, and I'll up my dosage to 4, twice a day. I'm always fine the next day.
Colds are flying around my office, but Emily and I are still (knock on wood) healthy. I've since done a little internet research on the individual ingredients, but am still not sure what it is that is helping. Maybe it's just a placebo effect. I haven't had any of the other benefits the product claims like increased energy, stamina, etc., but I also haven't gotten another cold. I am a faithful believer in it now. Maybe it's just snake oil and maybe it's all due to the placebo effect. But seriously, I don't care. I haven't had a cold in a while, so I'm happy as can be. I would recommend this product to anyone.

One of my friends introduced me to this little "magic power" and I tell you I love it. The trick to drinking this is to mix it with other healthy items that will also make it taste better. Here is the Super Shake:
11-15 oz Silk Vanilla Soy Milk
1 TBSP Honey
3 Level TPS of GREENS PLUS
5 Ice Cubes
2 TBSP of Flax Seed Oil
1 Banana
Put everything into a blender except the GREENS PLUS. Start the blender let it mix just a little bit then take the top off while it's mixing ( make sure the stuff isnt spewing out of the top of the blender lol ) then slowly pour in the GREENS PLUS and let it get all nice and green and mixed. BAM your done.. pour it into a glass and drink it down. The flax seed is hidden by the sweetness of the banana and the honey and also the Greens plus has the grassy edge taken off it so it makes the perfect food for your system. Be sure to clean the Blender IMMEDIATELY after you're done because the GREENS PLUS will stick like cement after a while. Also this is the cheapest you will find this product on the web so buy it up now before they up the price.

I don't review a lot of things, but these multivitamin/whole food/energy-boosting supplements are practically god's gift to my life.
I used to generally feel sluggish, with an ever-present headfog that never quite went away. I never realized I was living subpar (mentally) until I read a wonderful book, "what happy people know" by Dan Baker (a MUST read!).
One chapter is dedicated to supplements that may enhance mood and productivity. These multi's had practically everything on his list! Hm. I only wish that amazon will one day give us free super saver shipping on it.

Forti-Flax - 100% Organic Review

Flax seed is pretty amazing stuff: low in fat, high in fiber, contains omega-3 fatty acids (the same found in fish like salmon), is great for your heart, and tastes good. It's no wonder some call it a 'miracle food.' I prefer Barlean's because it is organic. I prefer ground flax seed because it makes it much easier to add to things. I add it to oatmeal, breakfast shakes, to top yogurt parfait, mixed with V8 juice, etc. It's an easy way to improve your health with very little effort. Just add it to something and you're done.
Awesome product.

Miracle Greens-Nutrient-Rich Super Food Supplement Review

Miracle Greens-Nutrient-Rich Super Food Supplement

What an overpriced disappointment. All I taste is excess sweetness from Stevia. Why are almost all green formulas sweetened? Either you want the greens or not, but don't change the taste with a sweetener.
It's also loaded with Lecithin, an inexpensive soy by-product used as a filler and promoted as something good.... it's not.
The only greens formula I know without sweeteners and fillers is Garden of Life Perfect Food, the Original Formula. Better yet, make your own green powders from Barley or Wheat grass, Chlorella, Spirulina, and Alfalfa powder from NOW Foods .

Green Foods Green Magma 11oz Review

You can actually find cheaper prices for Green Magma than this, but if you use this daily or regularly--as I do--it's handy to have the economy size. Sometimes, buying the 5.3 ounce size times two comes out cheaper (some vendors have the 5.3 ounce size for 13 bucks), as long as the shipping doesn't eat up all the savings.
Now, the product: Great. I like to use this pre-workouts, along with Berry Splash and a protein mix (not mixed together, separately) in order to get the phytonutrients, potassium, and carbs/protein mix that suits me best. This also is terrific boosted with unsweetened green tea leaf powder. The two flavors mix perfectly. (I use Yamamotoyama unsweetened green tea powder, which I get here from amazon.)
Of all the green drinks, Green Magma tastes the best. It actually mixes well in a shaker cup and tastes very green and fresh for a powdered mix. And mild. It's pleasant (as opposed to the gag-arrific wheat grass and other green mixes I've tried.)
I trust in the quality of this product, and I find it has a nice calming effect on my reflux-prone digestive system.
Thumbs up.

Barlean's Greens - Nature's Perfect Superfood Review

these are the best greens on the market for many reasons. first, they do not contain any fillers, especially soy, which is very difficult for your body to digest (even more so then diary products). also, they have a triple concentrate so you get more greens per serving of many esssential greens from various forms (vegies, ocean...) and they taste great. even my 2 year old and 4 year old love them! Ive tried many greens: barley max, and various from whole foods market). love them and highly recommend them!

Green Foods - Green Magma Review

Green Foods - Green Magma
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I like to drink Green Magma daily as a snack between meals with some protein powder (such as Designer Whey or Slim Body Whey); and I like to take extra on days when I ingest salty products (say, deli turkey or something canned or cheese). It's got a pleasant, mild "green" taste (not icky like wheat grass), and it's very quick to mix. It has a nice amount of potassium, and, hey, green goodness.
It's not a magic drink, but if you have days when you don't get your green veggies and maybe overindulge in salt, some green magma (rather sugar-heavy juices) may be helpful. (Coconut water is even better, being higher in Potassium, but that doesn't give you the "green" benefits.)
I do think that the pleasant taste was the most surprising aspect. I totally expected something gross (magma???), but this has a gentle taste that doesn't make one gag. (Wheat grass and some blended green food products definitely are hard for me to get past the gag reflex for me.) And if it's hard for you to ingest your recommended 5 to 9 (or 11, depending on who you read) fruits and veggies a day, this is one aid.
The information on the product says it has these nutrients and benefits: "beta carotene, vitamin C, vitamin E, chlorophyll, catalase, superoxide dismutase (SOD), 2"-O-glycosylisovitexin (2"-O-GIV). 2"-O-GIV is a water- and fat-soluble antioxidant found in Green Magma that effectively inhibits lipid peroxidation as well as the formation of aldehydes and other toxic compounds in vitro produced by free radicals. Green Magma also contains many trace minerals like selenium that have antioxidant actions."
I live in the city and don't have a perfect diet. I also have assorted health issues. So, I take Acai juice and other phytonutrient dense products to help. Green Magma is in my arsenal.
And if it tasted like pure crap, I wouldn't recommend it. It tastes way better than genuine acai berry juice. :)
If you get it, I recommend you get one of those 8 or 12 oz shaker cups with the lid you pop on and off to shake the Green Magma up easily and clean it simply. I find my small shaker cups get used A LOT, between protein powders, berry mixes, green tea extract dilutions, and Green Magma.
Enjoy, and be well,
Mir
