I use this after my workouts and before i sleep and have seen gains in strength and size.
Twinlab quality is good....... plain and simple and is what i refer to as the "GOOD OLD STAND-BY".
I mean sure some of the new products our there are better.......but consider how much you have to pay for say BSN CELLMAS which costs about $45?!@ and this retails for about $20.
I'm sure most guys who work out would disagree since we all know BSN is a great company and CELLMASS is the no.1 product now.
Still i was tight for money and this did the job as good as i needed !

(More customer reviews)If supplementing with the ingredients is at all beneficial (which i hope to find out.) this product is well worth the money. However, if you buy from amazon you are overpaying! I bought from them only because i have the free prime trial and signed up for the Credit card and saved money, making the free 2 day shipping and savings worth it. It can be bought elsewhere for much less.
Now onto the product... BCAA's do not mix with water well. You have to use at least 2oz per scoop and mix thoroughly and let it sit. There will still be foam but its drinkable. Stay away from the fruit punch flavor and go with grape.
This isn't one of those products you see or feel results from in the same day. You will notice reduced or eliminated muscle soreness using this product at the recomended dosing which is very high if you are overweight or just plain massive. If the product works and helps your body like it should you will see steady progress. I will keep this review up to date from week to week or so.
Dosing by the way is: lean body mass x .2 divided by 5. So 200lbs @ 10% body fat = 20lbs. 200 - 20 = 180lbs which would be your lean body mass x .2 = 36. Divided by 5 (5 as in one scoop = 5 grams) is 7.2 scoops. So the tub would last 25 doses.

When we do our 30-mile, 2500-ft-climb rides, she does better than half the guys on the team. What I am saying is that she takes care of her body and knows her stuff when it comes to nutrients.
I take a couple tablets prior to my workouts, which are pretty intense (for example 3 sets of 35 pullups).

I started seeing results after one week of using less than a 1/8 of a teaspoon (about 400mg - 500 mg) dissolved in a glass of water 3 times a day in between meals (an hour and a half to 2 hours after a meal or 30 minutes to an hour before a meal). Before I started taking glutamine I did some research, and found out that it gave acne to some people, constipation is another thing that could happen, I haven't experienced any side effects, I read that glutamine gets rid of excess ammonia in the body through the liver, so I guess that, if you have an overburdened liver that might lead to breakouts, I take milk thistle so that my liver function is fine, and drink more water to flush out the toxins and avoid constipation. You don't have to take loads of glutamine to heal your intestinal tract wall, I read that 1500 mg in separate doses of 500 mg is enough. It must be true because I can see the results. Acidophilus Bifidobacterium also help. Leaky gut syndrome is caused by many things for example candida overgrowth or any type of parasite really, drugs, alcohol, poor diet, so it is a combination of things you should do to heal your leaky gut, even having a good mental attitude helps. Look for anti candida diets and alkalizing diets.

I just emptied half a capsule under my tongue and let it sort of "melt". The powder didn't dissolve perfectly, so I had to add a sip of water to help it along. (More customer reviews)This product is a fairly easy to swallow tablet with 500mg of glutamine per tab. However, I was a little put off by the fact that it contains, in addition to the usual binders, sorbitol. Why is this sweetener needed in this tablet? It tastes like nothing and I think its really unnecessary. Next time I am going to try to find another product that comes in a capsule or one without sorbitol. Some people take several grams so even if its a small amount it can add up.
To be honest, I dont know for sure if sorbitol is harmful or not. However, I have Crohn's Disease, so id like to keep as many unnecessary ingredients out of my digestive tract as possible. Ive been having gas lately and I dont know if I can attribute it to these pills. Consequently, I always feel a reservation every time I go to take these tablets, especially since I would prefer to take several of them, several times per day.
Since dosages are often high, being several grams at a time, it gets a little tedious taking 500mg tablets. Im going to look for 1000mg capsules next time, as generally, capsules are easier to absorb.
I have little doubt about the actual purity and quality of the ingredients, I just wish there were less binders. A simple vegetarian capsule is nice and simple.

(More customer reviews)I bought another brand of L-Glutamine tablets and I wasnt that happy with them because they were 500mg tablets and I had to take lots of them to get the dose I wanted. The other choice are those huge 1000mg pills, which can be difficult to swallow. But then, I found these 750mg capsules from Jarrow. They are right in the middle - not too big and not too small. I think its a perfect size.
Another benefit is that these are capsules - not tablets. I always have found capsules easier to swallow. They also have less binders then tablets and no artificial ingredients unlike the Source Naturals tablets which contain sorbitol and many more random ingredients. Since some people take several grams per dose, several times per day, those binders really can add up. This product is a nice simple gelatin capsule.
These capsules consist of:
L-Glutamine 750mg
Other ingredients: Cellulose, magnesium stearate (vegetable source) and silicon dioxide. Capsule consists of gelatin.
If you are confident you are able to swallow the larger 1000mg capsules, I believe Jarrow offers it in that size as well. If you are looking for something to mix in drinks or food, it also comes in a powder. I find the pills to be the most convenient. You are also getting a better value when you factor in the higher dosage compared to the smaller 500mg pills.
