This standardized extract yields 6.5 mg of phytosterols from 100 mg of extract, teamed with 400 mg of the whole herb. The result is the most economical standardized Pygeum on the market. When teamed up with Nettle Root and Standardized Saw Palmetto this Standardized Pygeum helps to relieve Benign prostatic hyperplasia [BPH].
The men in our family actually use this exact product, though I would, as usual, prefer Nature's Way if it weren't for the price difference.
ABOUT PYGEUM:
It is well tolerated and their are no reports of toxicity or drug interactions. Virtually all the research literature that has been published states;

-----*- 2]- It works best with Nettle Root and Saw Palmetto,

This Swanson brand standardized product is a great deal, plus it contains 400 mg of the whole herb in addition to 100 mg of the standardized extract [6.5% phytosterols].
I would buy the "Nature's Way" brand if it were close in price because it is in soft-gels and includes the following in each dose

Swanson, and the Vitamin Shoppe, both retail "Nature's Way" products as well as their own house brands and offer low prices and credible service.
BOTTOM LINE:
Pygeum is essentially an herbal adjunct therapy for Benign prostatic hyperplasia [BPH]. Therefore, this is something that women don't need to take for themselves, but may still need to know about.
