(More customer reviews)I used to buy One-a-Day 50+ and it was exactly what I wanted - just the right amounts of just the right ingredients, based on informed research I had done. Potent, but not one of those "throw in everything but the kitchen sink" multi's either -- the kind that appeals to a highly-erroneous "more ingredients must offer more protection" viewpoint. (I learned long ago that some of these ingredients can do more harm than good, especially when mixed with certain other drugs or supplements.)
But then One-a-Day 50+ split into men's and women's versions, and added Ginkgo Biloba "for memory support" ("for marketing support" would've been more honest) to the men's version. Bad (and irresponsible) move, since Ginkgo is a fairly potent blood-thinner and could cause dangerous excessive blood-thinning among the millions of men who are taking daily blood-thinners already (including baby aspirin, as I do). I'm sure many (most?) "One-a-Day Men's 50+ Advantage" buyers don't all see or heed the note on the back label to talk to your doctor before taking, if you also take blood thinners.
So I searched and searched to find another multi with similar ingredients and amounts to One-a-Day 50+, but minus the Ginkgo. Was just about ready to give up when I found Sundown Complete 50+. (Sundown's "Daily Multiple 50+ seems to be exactly the same formula, BTW.)
Not exactly the same as the old One-a-Day 50+, but very, very close. They have a few extra ingredients I wasn't looking for, but in very tiny amounts so that's no problem. And independent supplement-quality reviews have generally shown Sundown to be good about delivering what the label actually promises, without contaminants (like lead) or unlabeled ingredients. They are owned by the same company as the highly-reputable GNC, Puritan and Vitamin World brands.
Do be aware these are very large uncoated caplets (even larger than the One-a-Day 50+ were), but for me that's not an issue.
