(More customer reviews)I like these because they are small and they taste pretty good. I like that they also contain K2. I give these to my daughter as well. We all had our vitmain D levels tested by our doctor and found they were low so I did some research and found that kids can get up to about 2000IU a day. One doctor suggests 2500IU a day for kids (on average) and 5000IU a day for adults, more if you are pregnant or sick. (see homefirst.com). This is also a good natural form, the same form you make naturally from sunshine. However, because of our indoors lifestyles, we don't usually make enough all year round (especially if you don't live in sunny states). This D3 is derived from lanolin. I do notice that I haven't been getting sick as much since I've gotten my D3 levels up. Everyone in the family had the stomach flu, but I somehow was fine. Same thing when a cold went around all my family members and friends. It could be unrelated, but I was pretty happy to be healthy!
Because this is only 1000IU, I usually take this in addition to a 10,000IU dose a few times a week. I use Superior Source D3 from evitamins.com. They are very small tablets that dissolve instantly. I also personally get my D3 K2 dots from iherb.com. you can get $5 off your first order using the coupon code MOS036.
Also, check out the book "The Vitamin D Cure" for more info on Vitamin D dosing and sources. I don't buy everything in that book, but it does have some good charts on how much you should take.
