This time I decided to save money and get the cheaper TTO--not a good idea. It smelled horrible. I know TTO doesn't smell like roses, but this was worse than most. Also, it felt different on my skin. I ended up throwing it away, only to buy the more expensive kind. Take my advice--this TTO is cheaper for a reason!

(More customer reviews)I developed hand eczema in my late 30's and suffered with it for four years. My flare-ups would range from mild to sever - almost debilitating. I tried just about every treatment available, prescription, non-prescription, home remedy, you name it. Some would work for a while, like hydrocortisone creams and Protopic, but eventually I would build up a tolerance and they were ineffective. When I first tried Loma Lux I was skeptical, but desperate, within a week I noticed my eczema clearing up, but I didn't get too excited since my eczema is cyclical. Then I ran out of the one bottle I had purchased and sure enough within a week or so, my eczema came back. At that point I purchased more, and have pretty much been using this product steady for the past year and one-half. While on Loma Lux, my eczema ranges from non-existent to mild and never real itchy. Also, I do moisturize my hands throughout the day with a heavy cream. When I do get a flare-up my eczema is very responsive to medications; I just dig out an old tube of Protopic or hydrocortisone and usually within a day or two the flare-up is either gone or under control. Loma Lux has not cured me of eczema, but it keeps it under control and boosts the efficacy of other treatments/medications. Currently I take about half of the recommended dose, but will increase the dose when needed (which is rare). Overall I am very satisfied with this product; if you are desperate, like I was, I would recommend giving it a shot.

There was a terrific article written by a German Akita owner, Michael Rampack. His Akita had come down with Sebaceous Adenitis (per his vet) which had the same symptoms that our boy was suffering with ... and had been given the same prognosis.
Mr. Rampack came up with his own homeopathic treatment for his Akita. We decided to try it. The Calendula Gel improved our boy's conditions and symptoms so well that we took him off all the vet recommended steroids, etc. Our Akita is doing great with the use of the Calendula Gel.

The Dr suggested we try adding large doses of B6 and Magnesium. We started that using capsules, which worked well but was a lot of work. We discovered Super Nu Thera and have LOVED it! One teaspoon a day is all it takes, and my son gets the full dose! We use the lemon one currently, and put it in his lemonade for school. He does not taste it! Like many Aspies, he has a very sensitive palate, so for him not to taste it is amazing! We have also seen amazing results from the B6. My mother has noticed he really hugs us, instead of just running at us and hugging us with his arms loose--we get real bear hugs. He makes eye contact. He is trying NEW FOODS!! 7 new foods in 4 weeks!!! He is sleeping better. He has more friends and better social skills. The real shocker has been the silly, imaginative play--all the time now!
We ordered the 3 trial size bottles--using one teaspoon a day we go through one bottle every two weeks. So this is much cheaper than buying the capsules and putting it together yourself!

It immediately improved the PH of my intestinal tract, I stopped having trouble with diahrrea and loose stools. I've been taking it for several months, and I can tell you it has helped me. As for the reviewer above who stated they had been taking it for three weeks and still had Candida, OF COURSE YOU DO. It takes several months to fully get a good case of candida under control. The literature that comes with the product explains this. The product is pleasant tasting and easy to take. It also suggests that you take a fiber supplement to help cleanse the colon of the dead and dying candida organisms. This is very helpful and I recommend it.

Nubian Heritage Bar Soap Review

(More customer reviews)I was first introduced to this product by street vendors and loved it, then I found a store that sells it and introduced my family to it and there hooked on it.
My skin really does feel softer and cleaner when I use it.
A few family members will sometimes have an allergic reacion to certain skin products but we've never had a problem with this soap line. Olive Oil is my fav but I like to mix it up once in a while.
It's waaaaaay too hot to lug around 12 bars of soap right now so I'm glad I'm able to buy it online and will never have to go without it.

I have extremely dry, very fair (w/ freckles) skin and have had a lifetime of being embarrassed over the skin bumps on my arms and legs that were bad enough to make me wear long-sleeved shirts and pants in the hot summer months.
I started learning more about parabens potentially contributing to cancer (they've found parabens in the tumors removed from womens' breasts), among other things (I've gone organic/vegan wherever possible). While there are other good, all natural lotions (Hugo's Naturals is great!), I am more than willing to give up the 100% natural ingredients to make Alba's Very Emollient Body Lotion, Maximum Dry Skin Formula w/ AHAs my go-to lotion for life.
I have used PLENTY of lotions with AHAs and others that claim to be designed to heal skin bumps (there's a name for it that I can't think of, and if I could I wouldn't know how to spell it, and I don't want to look it up right now). I did not buy this lotion for my skin bump problem - I bought it because it was on sale, 100% vegetarian, and paraben-free. Low and behold...skin bumps VANISHED within a week!!! Not only is this a GREAT moisturizing lotion (I used to swear by Avon's Intense Moisture Therapy for skin moisturizing), it is light (but extremely effective), smells nice, and keeps my skin glowing and bump-free.
I'm a customer for life. Thanks Alba!

UPDATE - April 9, 2011:
I bought a new 32 oz jug of this, my favorite lotion, at a local store. It was the "new, improved formula." YUCK! If you can get the stuff before they "improved" it, by all means do so, it's great stuff. The new formula is watery, granular, and smells bad. Who knows, maybe this jug was a bad batch, but I will only buy this pre-improved formula going forward (as long as it's available, anyway).

(More customer reviews)Soaps and shampoos containing some pine tar can be helpful for skin problems due to the natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties inherent in pine tree saps. This shampoo is sometimes helpful with the itching and flaking due to dandruff, psoriasis, and eczema.
However, it should not be used more than once a week, since it can cause skin irritation. Also, it has a strong odor, as the other reviewer somewhat facetiously notes. I generally shampoo a second time and followup with a good quality conditioner with a more pleasant scent, after giving my hair a thorough scrub with my fingertips, massaging my entire scalp using the pine tar shampoo. If it works for you, you should see a marked improvement in itching and flaking, though flaking may be worse after the first use. Any increase in itching and redness means that you are allergic. In that case, discontinue use. If you do not see an end to flakes in a month, see a doctor about your scalp problems.
On a historical note, pine tar was one of the first commodities produced in the British colonies of the 1600s and 1700s that would become the United States of America in 1776. The anti=fungal and anti-bacterial qualities of pure pine tar helped to coat and preserve the hulls of ocean-going wooden sailing ships that first created a worldwide trade system.

Other brands that use variations on a caprylic acid formula never worked quite as well. No harsh ingredients here like cascara sagrada or senna to invite that unwelcome and demanding guest, Mr. Trotsky.
The first few days may bring minor miseries as the yeasties die off, but hang in there. After the first few days you will feel these pills helping to restore the balance of power to the friendly microbes and those annoying candida symptoms will become only a memory.
