(More customer reviews)OK, I am on day 5 of taking this supplement. I picked this up at a Whole Foods looking for a fish oil supplement that was easy to swallow. I have bad, cystic acne that I think it largely due to diet and I wanted to try one more supplement before resorting to antibiotics to treat the symptoms. I'm also in the process of losing weight and changing up diet, and toxins releasing from fat and into the body are likely to casue breakouts. I read a lot of reviews from people saying they take omega 3's to balance out their omega 6 intake and help prevent their acne. Some reviews with deep cystic acne like mine said that there is a detox phase where your acne gets a lot worse and clears out before it gets better. Lets hope this is the case, because...
My acne is a LOT worse right now. But I DO believe this is due to the detox phase. The bottle I purchased is only goot for 15 days, so that should be sufficient time to get through this phase. When I am finished with this bottle I will update my review.
I feel GREAT now! I am taking a 2000 - 5000 IU of vitamin D a day, which everyone ought to because we simply don't get sufficient sunlight to create enough VD in our bodies in this modern age. However, I have been taking that for a long time and I have not felt this good or energetic or focused at work in a very long time! My hair and nails are in much better shape in just these 5 days. But I have to note that I think it is due to the QUALITY of this brand. It is a very dark oil and I think my experience of using WHOLE FOOD supplements testifies how different they are from the rest. I always get better results from little-processed whole food supplements, and this is the best yet. I have also noticed an improvement in my mood and productivity, makes you realize how affected we are by our surroundings!
The pills - I got easy to swallow because I have a VERY difficult time swallowing pills, even soft gels, but these are great! I have had no choking incidents or problems with it getting stuck, and that's saying something! Also there have been NO wierd tastes or "fish burps" with this product whatsoever. Again, this is all due to quality.
I will say that if my acne does NOT improve byt the end of this bottle I will try to find a formula that is ONLY omega 3's. I am concerned that the effects may not be as potent, but I am concerned that if my acne does not get better it is due to the omega 6's still in this product. I do maintain my stand on whole food products, regardless. DIET is the biggest problem with cystic acne, so as I improve on that hopefully this supplement will compliment it and help rid me of this uncomfortable condition!!
