Like another reviewer here, I wondered if NOW brand MCP powder is Pectasol. By the way, Euconugenics, the mfr and patent-holder of Pectasol, has now renamed it "Pectasol-C" to distinguish the new, improved, more absorbable form of their MCP. I spoke with a NOW nutritionist and also a NOW customer service rep on the phone, both of whom were helpful and informed. They assured me that NOW MCP is 100% Pectasol-C. As a distributor they are not allowed to call their product "Pectasol-C", but it is indeed that. On their label it is simply called Modified Citrus Pectin. Further verification is the patent# which IS printed on the NOW label and is the exact patent# given to Pectasol-C. (I just happened to notice that detail myself.) I also emailed Econugenics to ask if Pectasol-C is what NOW sells as "MCP" and received a reply verifying that the bulk powder they sell to all their distributors is Pectasol-C, but sold under the various companies' own individual brand names-- just as NOW had explained. I am on the first jar of the NOW powder (purchased elsewhere, but next time I'll buy from Amazon, as the price here is the best) and have been taking it 3x a day for ten days. It mixes easily if allowed to set in a glass of water for 10 minutes before mixing with a fork. The taste is bland-- not objectionable. No side effects such as detox reactions so far at all, but I've done a lot of other detox procedures, so I may not be very "toxic". Or, maybe it's too soon to report. Mainly, I wanted to post the Pectasol-C info.
