(More customer reviews)I bought this type of kava to help me with sleep.While it does relax you it tastes like acidic dirt!I love bitter things and am majoritively a vegetarian (I love fish) so it shouldn't be that bad.Whether in powdered form or by extract this stuff makes me want to vomit!I do continue to take it as it gives a good high, but a note to take only the root of the kava plant as that has no harmful effects on it.The negative effects people were having were from using a mixture of the leaves and stems of the plant which is unhealthy and is what marketers used in their elixers when they started selling it to the western world (Europe and America).The Tahitians and other South Pacific islanders do not use the leaves or stems.I got this information from KonaKavaFarm.com.
