(More customer reviews)I started using this liquid Vitamin D-3 from Vitamin Shoppe on the recommendation of my doctor because the prescription vitamin D tablets made me feel ill. I used it daily for 6 months adding a few drops daily to my orange juice (there is a slight after taste from the liquid form but it was insignificant to me). It worked extremely well and brought my Vitamin D level from very low to back to normal. I also regained much of my former energy. I still use it 2 to 3 times a week to maintain my Vitamin D level. My initial purchased of two bottles lasted close to 6 months.
Note that Vitamin D-3 is the same type of Vitamin D produced by exposure of the skin to sunshine and is metabolized better than Vitamin D-2 produced from plant products.
Because Vitamin D has so many benefits (reduced cancer risk, lower blood pressure, decreased seasonal affective disorder symptoms, reduced depression symptoms, stronger immune system and stronger bones) it is well worth while asking to have this level tested at an annual physical. I saved myself from future issues with osteoporosis by catching low Vitamin D levels early.
