(More customer reviews)When I found a lump in my beloved German Shorthaired Pointer's neck I was devastated. My parents had just had to put their dog down due to Lymphoma and I was sure that's what he had. When the biopsy confirmed it I was heartbroken, and for the two weeks leading up to the biopsy (they said it was too soon to tell before then) I cried every day. I knew in my heart he had it. I scoured the internet for anything I could find. I knew chemo was probably my only option but researched other alternatives, none of which seemed to be a good answer. He started chemo in early February and two weeks before that I had started to give him the K9 Immunity Plus supplements (the pills above need to be used with two other supplements from the company...Transfer Factor and K9 Omega) unless you buy the K9 Immunity Plus which has all three in them.
The oncologist administering the chemo has said he is doing remarkably well. My regular vet can't believe how great he is doing, how great he looks and is acting either. He has had NO bad side effects from the chemo. He is currently on the Wisconsin Protocol although they have altered it a bit because they found out he has T cell lymphoma and not B cell (B cell is easier to treat and has longer remission). I have not told them he is on these supplements because I have found when it comes to the medical community they have some issues with supplements so I decided not to say anything. His appetite is ravenous as usual and he is back to being himself. He also bothers me all the time to go for walks and after we do 2 miles he is crying to go again. He is back to jumping on my lap when I am on the computer and sleeping next to me in bed. He is back to all of his old tricks, including counter surfing which I never would have thought I would have missed :) These are all things he stopped doing when he first got sick. He stopped being himself and I never thought I would ever see the day that he would be his old self again. I am so glad I was wrong.
In addition to these supplements I also give him coconut oil in his food. I feed him twice a day so he has the K9 Immunity in the a.m. and in the evening I put warmed melted coconut oil in his food. His coat is remarkable and looks like the shiniest velvet. He has never had that great of a coat and had many skin and allergy issues which may be why he got lymphoma in the first place, don't know. He is still eating the same diet which I have fed him for years. A grain free high quality dry food (within the last year or so its been Wellness Core) and cooked meat typically chicken, venison, and beef.
Time will tell if he is going to achieve long remission and I am praying he does. He is 7 and I am not willing to let him go anytime soon without putting up a fight. I will post an update when there is more to say. All that I know is I don't know what his future holds, but I am incredibly thankful to Aloha Medicinals for giving my dog his quality of life back and giving me the best gift ever, extra quality time with my much loved and adored best friend!
