This supplement was prescribed by a naturopathic physician to help maintain cholesterol levels and reviewed with my personal doctor. I had problems using "statin" drugs. I have been using GugulPlex, along with high-dose Niacin, for over 5 months now, without the statin drug, and maintaining my cholesterol levels. My LDL level actually dropped a point.
Having said the above, understand that I "strongly" recommend consulting with your doctor before making any changes to medications and/or supplements. Some supplements do not..."play well" with some prescription drugs.
