When purchased in a bottle, it normally must be refrigerated and goes bad in a few weeks, but these pills take away the hassle by packaging the oil in vegan cellulose capsules. I have read widely varying estimates of the RDA for omega-3 fatty acids, so I just take one capsule a day, which contains 550mg of alpha linolenic acid (omega-3). This costs me only 10 cents a day to have the health benefits of omega-3s!
