(More customer reviews)I had a stomach ulcer that did not respond to the usual antibiotic and antacid/H2 inhibitor therapies. Then my blood tests showed signs of yeast overgrowth (candida, indicated by high levels of d-arabinitol) but no sign of h. pylori, the usual "ulcer bug". This led me to wonder if my ulcer might be fungal rather than bacterial, and the doctor suggested I could try caprylic acid and pro-biotics (yogurt, kefir, and/or pills with acidophilus, bifidus, etc.) for a while.
Just the word "acid" in "caprylic acid" made me scared that this stuff was going to make my stomach burn even worse, but after stalling for many days, I finally took a full dose of Capryl. I chose this product because of the sustained release and the mineral supplements (calcium, magnesium, zinc) it also provides.
Well, I braced myself for an increase in burning pain and had the soda bicarb all ready to drink whenever it started...but there was NO burning pain! That actually made me a little ticked off at myself, thinking how long I had put off taking the Capryl and continuing to hurt.
Now I did experience some extra discomfort in my bowels for a few days - some cramping, gassiness, urgency, irritable bowel type symptoms - but maybe that was the "die-off" of the candida the doctor had warned me about, because two weeks later, I was still taking Capryl but with no more bowel problems...and no more ulcer!
I'd like to add that it is probably important to follow caprylic acid therapy with a term of pro-biotics because I've read some evidence that caprylic acid can kill off some of the intestinal flora (the good bacteria you need) along with the yeast cells (which you DON'T need).

(More customer reviews)Instead of trying to murder your yeast with antifungals, why not just send it packing with probiotics? I had a really stubborn infection for almost four months. I was tested for everything--diabetes, low iron, thyroid problems, etc. But I am healthy and there was no obvious medical reason for my infection; my doctor just kept asking if I was stressed out? She wanted to prescribe 7 months of Gynazole-1. The list of things I'd already tried was very, very long. From OTC yeast creams to natural supplements to prescription creams and Diflucan, nothing had driven the yeast into submission. I had already tried Culturelle, which is supposedly one of the best probiotics. Don't get me wrong, Culturelle is great---for your gut. I've since learned that the reason it wasn't helpful in my situation, was because acidophilus GG doesn't colonize the vaginal/urinary tract, only the intestines. I wish I had heard about Femdophilus in the first place. It really does have the proper probiotic strains to rebalance vaginal flora. I have been taking it both orally and inserting it vaginally--maybe that's TMI, but it just made sense to me to put the bacteria where it belongs instead of swallowing it and waiting for it to eventually find its way there. The relief was almost immediate, and after several days, things just kept getting better and better. I plan on staying on this one long term. I was browsing the Jarrow website, and saw in the FAQ's that for yeast they also recommend another probiotic called Saccharomyces boulardii. It is a beneficial yeast that will colonize your gut and make it harder for candida yeast to thrive. I figured it couldn't hurt to try, since it's inexpensive and the bottle contains a 90 day supply. Plus, like other probiotics, studies have shown that it boosts your immunity. I can't wait to give it a try. Incidentally, if there is a silver lining in all of this, it's that taking all kinds of probiotics, even the ones that didn't help my yeast infection, really does seem to have helped my immunity; I haven't been sick, even when my children were. Forget trying wacky diets or boiling your underwear to get rid of yeast!

In the summer I experienced a yeast infection for the first time and had to see the doctor and get prescription and over-the-counter medications for it. While those items cured the vaginal yeast infection, I still had digestive problems. After doing some research, I found out that yeast infections indicate more than just imbalances in the vaginal area. There can be an imbalance in the digestive system, which can cause a lot of discomfort after eating.
I found this product which seeks to balance yeast throughout the body, not just in one area. The ingredients are natural. Other users' reviews of this product were all positive. In my case, it took a few weeks for my body to balance out, but I have been feeling great ever since.
For those who would like to balance the yeast within their bodies, but are not comfortable with the diets that require giving up a lot of foods or some of the other options, this is a great. Use it regularly.

I will pass out, my comprehension skills are diminished severely, my memory is non-existent, I get acne, hives & blisters depending on the food. I have tried practically everything - fungal, bacterial and antihistamines, to no avail. I read many sites looking for persons with similar symptoms so I can get a cure for my itchy skin, which itched all the time but flared up more at certain times of the month. (More customer reviews)This is the best product I have ever used. I was seeing results within a day or so of starting it. One way you can tell you have a bad yeast problem (candida) is look at your tongue. Is it coated with white? Then you have a yeast problem and possibly systemic. I am seeing some letup on serious breathing problems that I am having since starting this.
You have to take this on completely empty stomach and then wait a length of time. If you eat or have had a meal then you kill the impacts of how it can do. It is very strict on how you use this. It won't work if you have food in your stomach. Wait at least 2 hours or more after eating and that depends on how much you ate at a meal. I take mine during the night when I know I have an empty stomach and then very early morning and wait two hours. It is very strict and if you don't follow the rules on taking it, you botch the results and see no results. You have to plan how you take it but it is really worth the effort as results are very quick. It has a maintenance program of one pill a day but that could vary between the person and how bad the problem is. It also depends on how good the diet is. Some people have to stay on an anti-candida diet long term once the problem starts and that means, extremely low sugar foods allowed such as the diabetic controls, no fruit, nothing processed, real foods actually and real cooking from cookbooks. The book by William Crook, MD called the "Yeast Connection" is a good resource for the how to's of the anticandida diet for controlling yeast, but even with that something else is needed such as this incredible product, Candex. It is really an amazing product. Do the process correctly with it and you'll see results. Do the process wrong such as on full stomach and not empty stomach waiting and you see no results.
The bottle also suggests one cup of water per pill. So when I take three pills in the early morning I drink three cups of water. If I do less my stomach hurts and I don't feel well. I have no die off responses and no pain if I follow the recommended water requirement. I tried doing 2 cups of water with 3 pills one time and it made my stomach hurt so I follow the water rule strictly always and never have any problem with it. I buy this product every month or so and I stay with the 3 pills a day and it works well for me. I am not over the candida problem so it is taking longer for me to reach the maintenance level. Candida is associated with a wide range of medical problems and issues that staying at this dose works fine for me. My head is clearer, my joints/muscles do not hurt, the butterfly rash on my face is breaking up and my facial skin tissue is going back to normal--many differences showing up as I take this product.

We have also used Pau d'Arco as a second line of immunity defense when one is frequently exposed to annoying pathogens from schools, work etc., in essence taking this with Licorice, Echinacea, Elderberry or Berberine containing herbs. Some people looking for immunity boasting effects to maintain wellness rotate this with other herbs such as Cat's Claw, Echinacea or Oregon Grape, a couple weeks at a time each because it is mild enough and reasonably priced. I save Astragalus for that job since it can be taken indefinitely and has other adoptogenic effects that I feel enhance my personal health which like everyone's is an individual matter.
In general, I have found Pau D'Arco to greatly enhance the efficacy of Echinacea in particular and works well without interactions with most herbal medicines.
This Pau d'Arco by Nature's Way has no nasty side effects and I generally take 2 capsules 3-4x daily for about a week along with Echinacea or Licorice or Goldenseal. Buying this Nature's Way product is actually cheaper than buying the raw herb and making capsules yourself. This of course is a great reason to buy this product. In addition, this Pau D'Arco is from the inner bark which is the most medicinally effective part of the tree, so it also has the distinction of actually working which can not be said for all pau d'arco products sold by many other manufacturers who use a variety of parts of the Pau D'Arco tree [like the roots] in their products.

Being really concerned, I hit the internet in search of causes of eye infection and solutions to it and found the PetAlive Eye-Heal.
I favored the PetAlive Eye-Heal because it sounded like a product I could easily use on my cat. My cat can be very fussy sometimes, and she is highly sensitive to smelly medications and edible drugs in form of a pill. I figured, applying a little bit of the solution to a cotton pad and wiping my cat's eye clean would not be too challenging. And I was right. Although my cat could smell the product and immediately sense the hint of medication coming her way, she did allow me to put it on her eye twice a day. And she resisted me less in the next rounds of treatment as she realized that this made her eye feel better. In about two days, I could immediately see the benefits of the solution. And, in about a week, she was almost completely healed.
My recommendation to potential buyers is, to keep in mind that this is just a natural healing medicine. That is, it is not Rx nor known by vets (and the product recommends you seek a vet if there is no progress or condition worsens). Until you have time to take your cat to a vet, this product is a great cleanser and quick fix for your cat's eye infection (My vet told me to continue to use it if it is helping; it would not hurt). I would suggest that you apply it on both eyes even though only one eye may be infected, because infection in one eye can easily spread to the other good eye at a time when your cat's immunity is low. It would not hurt to apply to your other healthy cats living under the same roof. If your cat heals, you save a trip to the vet and the medication is reasonably cheap (Amazon.com is the best price so far).

Two things I noticed immediately: It noticeably lessened my heartburn and soothed my stomach. Over the course of a few weeks, the Threelac had cleared up symptoms I hadn't even realized were candida-related (like persistent nasal congestion and clicking noises in my ears). Be wise and follow the instructions. Don't try to jump in and take a high dosage of this. If you've been battling with candida for a while, you may even want to start on half a packet for the first few days. Also, when I first started it, I made the mistake of continuing my eating habits that had been feeding the yeast, and I paid for it. Don't continue to feed the yeast and then expect to kill it off. You'll keep yourself in a constant state of die-off unless you take the diet seriously. The good thing, though, is that you'll feel the difference with Threelac regardless of any diet changes.
Update: 12/16/2010
After a long yo-yo experience with threelac and other supplements, I realized that I needed something else to finish off the anti-candida job. I tried Sf-722, and it is allowing me to reintegrate foods (like fruit and nuts) after a few weeks. I still like Threelac and am thankful for all that it did for me, but you may want to consider a course of threelac followed by a course of SF-722.
