(More customer reviews)I was introduced to this particular DGL Rhizinate product about a year ago by a naturopathic physician. I was suffering from a mild heartburn type thing and these were absolutely great. I now keep them on hand for anytime I experience stomach upset.
Prior to trying this particular product I had tried other DGL products and they all had a terrible taste! When the naturopath suggested these to me I originally refused based on the awful taste of the other brands containing DGL. Luckily she had an open bottle in her office and had me try one - I was amazed at the pleasant taste. They're almost like a chocolate candy (and I currently hide the bottle from my husband, as he'll walk by and pop one in his mouth as if they were indeed candy!) So even with an upset stomach they're easy to take.
There are studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of DGL for stomach problems - you can google them if you don't have a naturopath or other holistic practitioner around to discuss them with. For me, they work as well as a tums, pepsid or peptobismol. However, everyone is different, so you'd need to see if they work equally well for you.
As always, if you are under the care of a medical practitioner, or having serious pain, check with your practitioner before changing/adding a new supplement.
