(More customer reviews)I needed anise oil for a cookie recipe but I couldn't find any in local stores. I ordered this brand and it arrived promptly and smelled heavenly! After receiving it I read the label which read, "For aromatherapy use. For all other uses carefully dilute with a carrier oil such as jojoba, grapeseed, olive, or almond oil prior to use. Please consult an essential oil book or other professional reference source for suggested dilution ratios."
I panicked!
I went to Now Foods' website and sent an inquiry right away if this item is acceptable for the 3 drops required for the recipe. They got back to me later that day! They did say that 3 drops undiluted was fine for my recipe so I wasn't in any danger of poisoning anyone. The carrier oil would be needed for more significant amounts due to the anise oil's potency.
I was sincerely relieved.
Since I don't need much anise oil, I suspect this bottle will last me a while, but I'm glad I have it.
