Much hoopla has been written about Vitamin C and we needn't review all of that here. One thing, however, that goes along with Vitamin C is that it enters the body, what little is needed is used, and then the surplus is excreted in the urine. Only a very small part of a dose actually gets used. Enter Timed-Release Vitamin C.
Timed-release Vitamin C has the effect of allowing the dose to stay in the system longer and, therefore, the body can make use of a larger portion of the dose. The longer expsure time to the drug from a small dose may be of some value, especially to someone like me who had scurvy as a child.
There is no need to take huge doses of fancy-formula extended release Vitamin C products. They only make your urine expensive. Buy a good, simple product like this one (and at a reasonable price) and get what you need. The practice of taking mega-doses of Vitamin C appears to be without scientific merit.
