WHY?
This product avoids everything that detracts from most other Vitamin C products and adds a few good things too. First, this is what you DON'T get:
1] NO high-heat processing needed to make tablets which ruins the natural efficacy of Vitamin C.
2] NO instantizers or other additives to artificially assist this product's dissolution in your beverage of choice.
3] NO sugar or honey for flavoring, and NO preservatives added.
In addition to just Vitamin C, this is what IS added and gives "SUPER C" its name:
1] Lemon bioflavonoids, Rose Hips, Acerola, Rutin, and hesperidin constitute about 60% by volume of this product.
Other Vitamin C with Bioflavonoid products generally have about 20% or less bioflavonoid content and when heated and steamed into pill form have much of their potency lost. This "Super C", especially when combined with Bromelain, Quercetin and Wheat Germ supplements, is an excellent decongestant that allows you to avoid that dreaded "medicine-head" feeling which accompanies antihistamines. Additionally, it may have a positive, long-term effect on upper-respiratory ailments and your health in general if NOT taken in excess.
Without making your own capsules, this Vitamin C powder can be added to virtually anything you are going to eat, preferably after it is cooked to avoid diminishing its therapeutic effects. In juice, this powder dissolves quickly and as easily as powdered sugar - almost, and this is how I add it to my diet.
MEASURE YOUR POWDER:
Of course remember to use a 1/4 teaspoon measuring spoon or you'll invariably consume too much vitamin C. In this case, too much of a good thing may cause acute diarrhea and cause much more harm than good! 1/2 of a 1/4 tsp. measure will average about 500mg., which is more than enough to add to any meal or beverage.
AND IF YOU WANT PILLS?
You can easily make this powder into capsules. Amazon does have a capsule machine available for about $10 for "00" size capsules which should hold about 1 gram of Super C per capsule. If you want to see that item on Amazon just search for "CAPSULE FILLER MACHINE FOR SIZE 00" mfg. by "Pure Planet Products". It is currently sold for $10.20 and makes 24 capsules at a time. If you need capsules avoid local health food stores where they cost about 5 cents each and check out some that are at Amazon available through "NOW" and sold by a number of vendors for about 1 cent each.
