Stevita Stevia Drink Mix Review

Stevita Stevia Drink Mix
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ordered several Stevita products and this was one of them. I had read many reviews where people described stevia products as having a bitter or weird after taste.
So when I got this product I added a litte bit at a time and tasted it as I went... I made a normal sized Kool-Aid or juice type decanter and added a full teaspoon (not heaping) of the powder. It has a very nice subtle sweet and fruity flavor. You could add more for a much more pronounced sweetness and flavor but I think thats what happens when people complain of a bitter after-taste... they add too much.
The Stevita drink mixes were not meant to have the bold flavors and sweetness of say.. Kool-Aid or grape juice.
These products are wonderful for those who are avoiding sugar, diabetics (check with your doctor first), low-carbing, artificial sweeteners and are tired of drinking water, water, water all the time ;)
When you receive the container you will be surprised about the size... it is smaller than it looks online but remember a little goes a LONG WAY!

Now Foods, Xylitol Review

Now Foods, Xylitol
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wanted to share that my own experience with finding xylitol was nothing short of a miracle. I can enjoy food in moderation that I was denying myself. I say moderation, because xylitol can cause soft or even liquid stool if you overdo it. It's not safe for pets because they get severe hypoglycemia quickly which can kill them, especially puppies and kittens. What I do is mix this with stevia drops and I can then use that concentration for coffee and tea all day without ill effects. I feel I need to address some reviews that people have on xylitol, not necessarily from Now foods specifically. I am concerned about people buying a new product without checking what it is and then giving it bad reviews for effects written clearly on the bag. It would be different if the manufacturer was being deceptive but honestly, don't feed your kids something if you don't know what it is and then want it taken off the market. For some people this is a miracle food. Research any food you are going to put into your body or even bring into your home. It is not a manufacturers job or governments job to tell you what to eat. I'm not saying this to be mean, it's just that we've become way too passive about our own responsibility.

Spoonable Stevia by Stevita Review

Spoonable Stevia by Stevita
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
this will take some getting used to. what can compare to sugar when you're not allowed to have it. i baked a cheesecake with this and used only 1.5 teaspoons! the cheesecake was great!
my problem is my morning decaf...i am so used to sweet coffee! i used to put 3 equals or splendas in my cup..well until i noticed that i was forgetting things!!! my memory took a vacation so to speak on the equal and i believe the same for the slenda. so ok i use about 1/2 teaspoon of stevita in my coffee, and i get a sweetness that is very noticable.
i no longer use equal or splenda and i don't get that brain fade anymore!!!
this is really a great product! it will also teach you to steer away from that icky sweet taste we love so much which is'nt good for us anyway!
it will not spike your insulin as well.
i use the 16 ounce bulk canister..but the 2000 packets is a great deal too!
update: let me save you money...i purchased the stevita herb in its natural state....it tastes nasty! i thought i would be slick and make liquid out of the herb..it is a brownish green powdered herb and now i have like 5 lbs of it and there is no way i am going to ever use it! yuck! this stevita sold in the 16 oz canister is the best you can get as far as taste! stick with it..it is great!

I have to agree. Best results are with a little sugar and a few drops of stevia. Personally I use it alone most of the time. I've tried other brands and find this one (liquid)to have the best taste. Less expensive on-line than in stores also.

SweetLeaf Liquid Stevia Review

SweetLeaf Liquid Stevia
Average Reviews:

My chiropractor recommended Stevia as an alternative to the artificial sweeteners I had been using. I had been having chronic migraines, which he deduced were a result of my use of Aspartame. Initially I was skeptical, but decided to give it a shot anyway. I am happy to say that since I now use Stevia instead of any artificial sweeteners, I'm headache free! Stevia comes in lots of flavors, even rootbeer, which I've used in sparkling water in place of diet soda - it's delicious and no headaches! What could be better ...highly recommend! (PS this is the best price I've found anywhere ...)

If you can't have alcohol, this is hands down the best stevia on the market. Very sweet but not at all bitter. A little goes a long way. I use this to sweeten coffee, yogurt, just about anything. I even combine it with the Nunaturals white stevia pure extract powder for baking, and it works great! I won't use any other kind now!

Planetary Herbals Stevia Powder Review

Planetary Herbals Stevia Powder
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)

EXCELLENT SUGAR SUBSTITUTE HAS HEALTH BENEFITS + NO WARNINGS,
This "Planetary Formulas Stevia Powder" is good stuff and among the most economical and user-friendly ways to buy Stevia.
WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT:
Sweeter than sugar, that's what Stevia is, but that's not all.
Stevia has been shown to lower blood sugar levels in research involving healthy adults by increasing the secretion of insulin making Stevia useful for diabetics.
It also improves digestion and gastrointestinal function, and is useful for upset stomachs and to reduce gas and stomach acidity. Several recent studies have shown that it may improve the heart's muscle tone and promote the body's water loss. These properties are thought to contribute to lower blood pressure.
Stevia also has antiviral, antimicrobial and antibacterial characteristics. It's used for relieving bleeding gums, sore throats and cold sores in South America and Japan. Stevia has been shown to inhibit plaque formation and bacterial growth causing gum disease and tooth decay, and will not cause cavities. It may even reduce cravings for sweets which coupled with its lack of calories may be helpful in weight loss.
ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE SUGGESTS EVEN MORE:
There is anecdotal evidence that Stevia is good for skin problems like acne, cold sores, dermatitis and eczema, and may speed up the healing of cuts and scratches. There have even been reports that Stevia may be useful as a contraceptive, but that has not yet been substantiated by research.
FDA APPROVAL TO BE SOLD AS A FOOD SUPPLEMENT -- NOT A SWEETENER
Most of all, Stevia, unlike the artificial sweeteners we put in everything from soda to psyllium does not come with any health warnings from the FDA, and it will probably do you no harm. However, Stevia has not been approved to be sold as a sweetener even though it is a NATURAL SWEETENER LIKE SUGAR. Nevertheless, Stevia has been approved [since 1994] to be sold as a dietary supplement in the United States.
AFTER ALL THE SMOKE HAS CLEARED THIS IS FOOD - USE IT BY EATING IT!
Stevia can be substituted for sugar. It is a bit different tasting if one is use to sugar. I use it on many things where I can eliminate large amounts of honey and/or sugar such as;
1]- Herbal Tea, instead of sugar or honey.
2]- In multi-grain hot cereal, when you need to sweeten it, Stevia saves me a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of sugar per large bowl. In this case I just add about a teaspoon of honey and 1/8 teaspoon of stevia for the same effect. Stevia is much sweeter than sugar so use about 1/10th as much in place of sugar.
3]- Iced Tea.
MEDICINALLY SPEAKING:
A standardized extract of 57 mg. containing 85% "steviocides" in a beverage, is what Doctor James A. Duke, suggests in his famous, "The Green Pharmacy Herbal Handbook".
ABOUT FORMS AND BRANDS:
I prefer Stevia in powder over the packets, as I can better measure, and use what I need for each individual use. Purchase Stevia in whatever form you are most comfortable using.
'Planetary Formulas Stevia Powder 3.5 oz.' is currently sitting on our shelf. It is excellent and it comes in a liquid as well. 'Swanson', 'Now', and 'Nature's Way' are all excellent too, and have Stevia in powder, liquid and packets for convenient use. Any of the above choices are excellent, and I have used them all at one time or another, over the past 4-5 years on a daily basis.

My grandson HAD Early Childhood Caries [ECC] and so we started giving him Xylitol products. SPARX candy was what we started him on [along with SPRY gum]; from there he's graduated to a stronger Xylitol candy.
BUT his baby sister cannot handle the stronger stuff, so she now she gets SPARX Berry candies. It's perfect for her.
And my grandson's little cavities have all remineralized or been arrested! SPRY stuff has my 1000% rating! Great Stuff!

Now Foods, Stevia Extract Powder White Review

Now Foods, Stevia Extract Powder White
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Now makes an excellant product and amazon provides it at a very good price with prompt delivery. The trick to avoiding aftertaste with stevia powder is not to try to make the food too sweet. 1/16 of a teaspoon is enough for a 12 ounce cup of tea - sweet but not too sweet and no aftertaste. Use 1/8 of a teaspoon in 12 oz. of tean and the tea will taste as sweet as soda pop and the aftertaste will still be around an hour later.
I have been using this product as a sugar substitute for about a month (replacing aspartame - Equal) and recommend it without reservation.

Kal Pure Stevia Organic Extract -- 42 mg - 1.3 oz Review

Kal Pure Stevia Organic Extract -- 42 mg - 1.3 oz
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Because I developed an allergic reaction to processed and artificial sugar, I've been using Stevia for more than 3 years now, and have purchased numerous Stevia information and recipe books during that time. I'd read that KAL was the best tasting brand, but KAL wasn't sold locally, so I had only used NOW powder or Sweet Leaf packets, which can make home-made desserts bitter, if not combined with fruit or if not used in precise measurements. When my local NOW source couldn't deliver for 2 months, I checked on-line for a quicker source and discovered KAL brand available and decided to try it. I am so glad I did. The taste is never bitter. As an experienced Stevia user, I highly recommend KAL as the best tasting stevia available.

Although Agave Nectar is more expensive that regular sugar, it has a low glycemic index rating, which makes it perfect for those who have problems with high glycemic foods, and need to reduce their consumption. Though not diabetic, I have problems with high tri-glycosides which are considered as part of your total cholesterol level, and I must reduce my consumption of high glycemic foods. This fits the bill.
You can satisfy your sweet tooth without increasing your intake of high glycemic foods.

I've loved using NuStevia for 5 years.
I tried using this stevia instead. It's won't dissolve in HOT coffe.
It takes 9 packets of this brand instead of 2 packets of other brands.
Customer service refuses to pay for me to ship this back to them.
Do not waste your money on this diluted, non-disolving stevia. It's cheaper to buy a more concentrated brand that will disolve in coffee.

Unfortunately, the description tells you all the things that are not in it, except one. SILICA. I purchased this to use as a nasal/sinus rinse, as recommended by my allergist. According to their description of it, it was free of all sorts of additives. Well, not SILICA. Silica is not something I want to ingest, food grade or not. PERIOD.
