(More customer reviews)This may not be your favorite review because I bought the powdered liver to make treats for my dog. She loves them! Treats I've made for her in the past have not sparked any interest at all, but she will beg for these! My guess is that the earlier treats lost their meaty smell/flavor in the mixing and baking, but the liver held up. When the supply gets low, I will be buying more.

It has also been subject of many studies in the US. Here is a link with some info from Sloan-Kettering website [..] I have found it useful to help maintain liver balance and it is thought to be a powerful anti-fibrotic, thereby slowing deterioration of the liver and ultimately cirrhosis. "Sho-saiko-to (SST) appears to have a multi-factorial activity, inhibiting proliferation of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells, preventing liver injury, promoting liver regeneration and enhancing immune function." This particular formula adds Silymarin, Astragalus and Schisandra for broad spectrum liver and immune support. Having advanced liver disease I take 3 tablets twice a day, but the label suggests 2x.
This Planetary Herbal product is high quality and a great price point, especially now that the HepZone product line of SST is no longer available.
