(More customer reviews)I don't understand why Amazon does not list the pertinent "Supplement Facts" regarding this and other Curcumin supplements. From iherb.com for this product: Standardized to >95% Curcuminoids including:Bisdemethoxy Curcumin (2.5-6.5%);Demethoxy Curcumin (15-25%);Curcumin (70-80%). (The minimum you should be looking for is Curcumin 70%; Demethoxycurcumin 15%; and bisdemethoxycurcumin 3%). This product appears to meet or exceed that. Other products may work too, but I stopped my research and purchased this one because the price seemed reasonable. There are some Tumeric supplements out there that are not much more than Tumeric spice placed in capsules, which will not deliver the beneficial components in sufficient quantity to do more than eating a delicious curry dish. I highly recommend that you purchase a lower dosage (e.g. this 500 mg product) because you may be sensitive to it. If you purchase a larger dosage capsule (e.g. 100mg), then it's impossible to reduce the dosage to something you can tolerate. DO NOT TAKE THIS SUPPLEMENT ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. Doing so can cause gastric distress at a minimum, and the possibility of gastritis and peptic ulcer disease. Curcumin is insoluable in water, so take this supplement after eating some fat or it won't be absorbed. That can be as simple as adding a spoonful of peanut butter to your meal. I highly recommend the book "PDR for Nutritional Supplements, 2nd Edition, Hendler, to vet the supplements you consider taking. Although it is written for physicians, much of the text is written in easy to understand style with many objective notes and warnings.I can't imagine how I would vet and choose the supplements I take without it. I have no connection with this product or the book...they are genuine suggestions from my personal research. Cheers.
