The onboard fitness trainer was trying to sell me a product designed to remove the toxins that surround your liver and encapsulate the fat around your liver and abdomen. The premise of products like this is that the food we eat is so full of chemicals that our liver hasn't evolved to process, and that the liver only excretes the chemicals out. Because those excreted chemicals surround the fat cells closest to the liver, it makes it nearly impossible for your body to burn them, no matter how much cardio or how many ab exercises you do. At the time of my cruise, I was like a lot of people who work out: toned muscles but still with a "spare tire" around the midsection.
The cost of the trainer's product was over $250. Because we got along so well, towards the end of the cruise he admitted you could find products like his in health food stores for a lot less money.
I originally found Intestinal Drawing Formula in the colon cleansing section at Whole Foods. Nothing specific caused me to pick this brand over any others; I still didn't know how -- or if -- it would work.
I suggest following the directions as I understand them: two rounded tablespoons in a large glass of water, stir very well, drink it, then refill the large glass with water and drink it to get the remaining product in the glass. Do this twice a day until the entire bottle has been used up. If you're like me, you'll notice two things at first: you'll feel a scraping feeling in your intestinal tract as the product is cleaning out compacted matter and toxins and that when it's time to go, well, you'll really go.
Within a few days after completing the regimen, if you're working out and burning calories, you'll start to notice that you can see your abs; you'll be able to pinch less fat around the abdominal area. As you continue to work out the muscles in your core will develop and be seen as well as any other muscles you work out.
CAVEATS: I would not use this product if you're not going to exercise. This is not a quick fix done done in place of exercise, it should be done with a plan in place. I also found that it's easier to consume this product mixed with cold liquid; it's hard to choke down in liquid at room temperature (I use water). Also, t can make you nauseous. I don't know how to determine when it will. I have used it for almost 18 months (large bottle first, smaller bottles as maintenance every two months thereafter) and I got sick the last time I used it, perhaps because I tried drinking it with lukewarm water.
So my results were, after using Intestinal Drawing Formula, a quick loss of belly fat (within a week after completion) and about 10 lbs. and I am now down to my ideal weight. I continue using the product in maintenance mode every two months or after I've eaten a lot of restaurant and hotel food.
