(More customer reviews)I decided to take this when I was approaching my 42nd week of pregnancy, per the recommendation of my midwife. I had a postdates induction in a hospital with my first baby, even though we'd planned a home birth, and I was hoping to be able to have our baby naturally at home the second time around. I took seven doses of this Herb Pharm cotton root bark (about a dropperful every half an hour) and went into labor eight hours after my last dose. I also took a small amount of castor oil several hours before labor started (2tbs and had no side effects from it), so that could also have helped to start labor.
I'd recommend this for postdates pregnant women trying to induce labor at home instead of using pitocin. I had no side effects from it and it appears to be quite safe. It may well be effective, too. The taste isn't great (but is relatively tolerable), so I diluted it in a little water and drank it quickly. I can say, "It worked for me" .. but I was due to go into labor at any moment, so it could have been a coincidence. It's worth a shot.
