(More customer reviews)For at least ten years, my spouse has been fighting bad cholesterol ratio's on top of having high cholesterol. Even though the doctor keeps increasing his prescription medications, his ratios keep getting worse even when the total count has come down. I started him on one 450 mg tablet a day of Holy Basil (on top of all the other supplements I've been feeding him for years and his statin drug). After about three months he had his blood checked and for the first time in ten years his ratios of bad to good had improved and the total count went down. His diet has really not changed, and he has put on weight over the years, and is not as physically active as he once was - all good reasons for it to be getting worse, not better. So, I don't know if it was the Holy Basil or not, but I, who has never had a problem with ratios or elevated cholesterol, have decided to start taking it too. Do your research and always tell your doctor what supplements you are taking. From what I could tell, it is one of the few supplements that is safe to take when you're on statin drugs, but I'm not a doctor, so do your own research! I'll be looking forward to seeing if I have any positive changes in my blood work!
