(More customer reviews)My husband was diagnosed with Hep C in 2000. He endured 2 rounds of Interferon with Ribivirin, and with Pegylated Interferon. Both reduced viral load to 0, but it returned later. Doctors would not do a third round. A "CAM" doctor recommended Sho-saiko-to. After 4 months on SST his liver enzymes dropped to midrange normal. After one year his viral load was cut in half, from 31,000,000 to 15,000,000. He has now used it regularly for two years. He has not yet run another viral load, but I will say that he no longer looks like an 85 year old man at 55. He is energetic and virile again. Of course, he is also employing several other Complementary and Alternative Medicine protocols (or Anti-Aging Medicine): Lot's of good food, protein shakes, vitamins, hormones.
Our original source of SST is no longer in business so I am here looking for a replacement supplier. I have compared the ingredients and this is the closest I have found to what we had. It is essentially the same. Be careful NOT to take it concurrently with Interferon therapy, as it can be fatal. There is research supporting its effectiveness as an antiviral, as well as in suppressing liver cancer cells and regenerating liver cells. It prevents inflammation and scarring of the liver. I make it into tea for my elderly mother who is recovering from Stage 3 colorectal cancer to protect her liver from metastasis.
