(More customer reviews)I tried Hoodia when it got all of the media attention years ago. It didn't work. But I suspected then that what I had purchased was not the real thing. There were warnings out that much of what was available then was fake.
Recently I saw this product on the Life Extension website (lef.org). And because of their excellent reputation I decided to try it. I was not disappointed. It works. My appetite is reduced.
I have actually lost a few pounds. And this was during a time that included a family vacation and a death in the family. So my eating has been erratic. Who knows what will happen in more normal times.
I've struggled with my weight all of my life. I've gone as low as 620 calories a day for 7 months. (There was a horrible rebound.) I've done radically low fat. And I do low carbohydrates. To this day I don't eat sugars, starches and certainly not high fructose corn syrup. I swear I must have put in at least 1000 miles on treadmills. And, I've lifted tons of weights.
I am so sick of hearing "calories in, calories out" as if that was not blindingly obvious to the least informed. The problem is converting that insight into a normal weight when your appetite is constantly demanding that you eat and eat and eat. Will power just cannot stand up to that. Or at least mine can't.
I don't now why so many of us have broken appetite control systems. But it is obvious that we do. I simply don't believe that we have all become lazy and self indulgent. And even if that were true, it would not explain why rats living in our cities are becoming obese. Nor why 6 month old babies are becoming obese. (Are 6 month old babies lazier and more self indulgent now? Come on. Really?)
I suspect it is some kind of environmental toxin.
Whatever is causing the problem, if weight is to normalize, then appetite has to normalize first. This is where Hoodia comes in. It isn't magic. But it does seem to reduce appetite. I am using it with Optimized Saffron (from Life Extension available on Amazon) which reportedly increases satiety. And, I am also using green tea extract, which among its long list of benefits, helps with appetite control.
