(More customer reviews)As someone with long hair (very long) that also does a lot of swimming, I'm always on the search for something that can tame the tangles and keep my hair healthy. I originally found this when searching for olive oil shampoo as it works wonders for sun and chlorine damaged hair. At the time, this was on clearance so I thought I'd spend a couple of dollars to give it a try - I was shocked by how small the bottles were when it finally arrived - they look more like sample sizes or hotel versions of shampoo. Then when I actually used it (without reading the directions) I quickly encountered an oily mess that required several washings to remove...plus the fragrance is rather odd. All in all - my first reaction was that I HATED IT.
Then, later in the summer when the sun and chlorine were really beginning to take a toll and my hair was beginning to frizz, I decided to give it another try...this time reading the instructions and using an itsy bitsy amount. It worked like a charm. In fact, it's wonderful. It leaves my hair so silky, shiny and totally tangle free that even the hair dresser stopped trying to sell me anything and asked when I was using!
Sadly, by the time I went to purchase more it was out of stock and I couldn't find it for months. I tried several other products none of which worked nearly as well and then FINALLY, Amazon had it back in stock at which point I immediately ordered it again. Now, the odd smell (which reminds me of citronella or some sort of citrus fruit) tends to grow on you over time and is actually very invigorating. It doesn't linger and isn't notable once the hair is totally dried so no concerns over clashing with any fragrance/other you might wear.
The bottles which are surprisingly small - will last MUCH longer than you imagine. This does not lather like a traditional commercial shampoo but instead, you will work it through the hair. Whatever amount you think is right - halve it! It takes very little. Absolutely one of the best products out there for long hair!
