Fenugreek seed, apart from being used as a spice in middle eastern cuisine, apparently is also good for soothing the stomach. Some 12 years ago I suffered from a very bad head cold, and someone told me that fenugreek acts to bind mucus in the body. Long story short, after taking a lot of fenugreek seed for a few days (and nothing else), my cold disappeared. Now I take two capsules in the morning, every day. Doesn't hurt.
