(More customer reviews)I was having a stomach virus that caused me to have first cramping and then diarrhea soo frequently for a whole day. No fever or symptoms of infection to think it might have been bacterial. For about 20 hrs, I just hydrated myself heavily and let it run its course, but it kept getting worst; being in the care field and knowing that there is not anything for treating viral gastroenteritis in the medical area, I searched the net and found very good recommendations for virastop. My son went and bought it for me (the regular virastop, not even the double strength 2x), I took a total of 9 pills in the next 6 hrs. The diarrhea stopped and I was able to sleep that night. Works like a charm; However, I did find out that you must continue to take it 2-3 times a day for about 1 or 2 weeks or the symptoms start to return, I guess it takes that long to finish up the virus completely; so I kept taking 2 pills (of the single strength), 3 times a day on an empty stomach for about 2 weeks. What a great find, it works like a "viral antibiotic", I was able not to miss school thanks to it.
(I later found the virastop 2x, it is just as effective but you can take half the amount of pills you take of regular virastop) Ever since then, I keep it in stock at home just in case it is needed, at the minimal sign of anything that could be possibly viral (such as symptoms of a regular cold) I take 3 virastop 2x pills on an empty stomach to stop the virus in its tracks.
