The symptoms can range from an annoying dulling of the sense of taste, to frequent colds, to infertility, to a life threatening lack of appetite called 'anorexia nervosa'. Paradoxically, if a person is deficient enough in zinc, their body will have trouble absorbing most common forms of zinc.
This fairly inexpensive product acts as both a test for zinc deficiency and a remedy.
The test works like this: if you can taste this product and it tastes minerally or soapy and unpleasant, then your zinc level is adequate. If the product tastes like water, or somewhat sweet, then you are deficient in zinc.
I have seen demonstrations where a group of people are given a chance to try the product. The range of people's reactions is striking - from an immediate pucker to spit it out to, "That tastes good, may I have more?"
I have a tendency to run low on zinc so I can attest to both the product's efficacy as a test and as a supplement. When my zinc levels are low this product tends to taste like water or slightly sweet. When this happens, I take the product as directed, on a daily basis. After a few days the taste of the product seems to grow stronger until at last it tastes soapy and unpleasant to me and I know I can stop. (And believe me, I want to stop at that point!)
I highly recommend this product to people experiencing symptoms that can be caused by zinc defiency - especially if you know someone who is suffering from anorexia - as this is one of most effective treatments for the condition, and it is MUCH less expensive than psychotherapy! (Psychotherapy has a very poor success rate for anorexia!)
